CHOP CHOP History – Celebrating 15 Years!
History of Chop Chop
The idea of Chop Chop Restaurant Week was conceived by a few Uptown restaurant owners and chefs who recognized the quality and uniqueness of our many dining establishments.
Saint John got its first taste of Chop Chop in the Fall of 2009 and we’ve been chopping up delicious plates ever since!
The inspired idea of offering something unique at consistent price levels caught on quickly. Restaurants recognized this as an opportunity to promote the unique and diverse dining scene. Uptown Saint John is home to many independent restaurants, all located within a few blocks and all simmering with distinct delicious tastes.
Uptown Saint John has ultimately become a dining destination with a tightly-knit cluster of establishments who compliment each other nicely. The restaurants also thought it important to support the important ‘Lunch Connection Program,’ which the restaurants have faithfully donated to since 2013. (a total over $95,000 to date)
There have been a few changes over the years, but the excitement, quality, and popularity has only grown. Celebrate 15 years with us by enjoying some delightful Chop Chop dishes during Chop Chop Restaurant Week, Nov 4-10, 2024
