We welcomed a new Uptown Saint John Business Improvement Association business member! The Second Story, a taproom and cocktail lounge, is nestled above Loyalist City Brewing.
The space is a collaboration between Woodchucks Axe Throwing and Loyalist City Brewing and offers a unique perspective of the city’s harbour. The atmosphere blends contemporary and historical with old local area photos, including Market Slip displayed on the walls. Make sure to look through the window on the stairs or the one by the bar to see a mysterious alleyway situated between this building and the Old Post Office.
They had a soft launch in December, with a grand opening set for February. The bar features eight taps with 7 Loyalist City beers and a featured cider. It also has a rotating menu of craft cocktails, a large selection of non-alcoholic substitutes, wine, and scotch, and the menu is continuously growing. They are currently working on planning some future food pop-ups.
