SUMMARY:Wolf Castle: Waiting For the Dawn Tour
DESCRIPTION:Wolf Castle w/Olympic Symphonium and Stephen Hero & Friends \n  \n“The Maritimes’ most promising young MC” – Complex \n“one of this country’s most promising young rappers” – CBC Music \n— \nWolf Castle is an Indigenous Mi’kmaq rapper\, producer\, and singer from Pabineau First Nation\, New Brunswick – an unlikely place for a rap career to come to fruition but everything about Wolf Castle defies the odds. \nGrowing up on the reserve with a supportive family of artists\, movie directors and musicians\, going for a career in the arts seemed like the natural choice. Heralded as “The Maritimes’ most promising young MC” by Complex and “one of this country’s most promising young rappers” by CBC Music\, his music carries an energy and wisdom beyond his years covering topics about love\, loss\, celebration\, and perseverance. \nMixing pop-rap with old school roots\, his lyrics have been described as catchy and confessional. A self-described knucklehead with an internet connection\, Wolf Castle likes to keep listeners on their toes and deliver a new perspective on being young\, indigenous\, and proud of it. \n——- \nWith The Olympic Symphonium: \nOver the past two years\, Wolf Castle has been joined by Fredericton-based group The Olympic Symphonium as his live band and recently\, thanks to the Greville Tapes Music Club project\, the two acts have been collaborating on original material fusing elements of hip-hop\, jazz\, and folk music into something truly original.   \n  \nSTEPHEN HERO makes raw\, working class\, alternative hip hop from Canada’s east coast. He began writing and recording raps on a tape recorder in his bedroom in the early aughts\, and spent his teens and twenties honing his craft\, exploring other genres and learning a few instruments and engineering skills. His style is heavily influenced by alt-rap legends like Kool Keith\, El-P and MF DOOM\, with a strong penchant for the relaxed and joyous experimentation of groups like De La Soul and Beastie Boys\, with a contemporary feel. His taste in production is eclectic and open-minded\, working with artists from various genres and handling production himself. \n\n“Hero’s darkly sly humour is an easy entry point to his multifaceted music\, and his MF DOOM fandom shows through offbeat rhyming and layered lyricism. EAT THE RICH\, his anti-capitalist new EP with Motherhood’s Brydon Crain\, boasts tracks like the abrasively industrial “Livin the Dream” and the acoustic guitar-backed call to arms ‘Nose to Tail\,’ which will make you nod your head as you hoist your pitchfork” – Exclaim! \n“He’s single-handedly filled the latest EP in his Patchwork series with wicked and wild beats\, imaginative ideas and complicated storytelling that focuses on both the trials and little triumphs of working-class Canada. Underrated but undeterred\, Patchwork 2 confirms STEPHEN HERO’s status as one of the country’s most exceptional rappers and wordsmiths.” – Dominionated.ca \n\n“In Hero’s retelling\, the everyday grit of Saint John chafes against the way New Brunswick’s largest city is ‘presented to the world in this sanitized way…’ By snugly embracing the local rough and tumble\, he hopes to evoke James Joyce\, who once declared the universal could be found in well articulated particulars. It’s a sentiment Hero thinks about often ‘because regionalism in hip-hop is so important. And I think I’ve developed a style that’s very regional\, and that hasn’t existed before.’ – Complex Canada\n\n“This Saint John MC…lambasts ‘oligarchy enabling’ politicians and corporations (perhaps not surprisingly\, a recent EP is titled ‘Eat The Rich.’)” – The Globe & Mail

SUMMARY:Tom Morello: A Night of Stories & Music
DESCRIPTION:Grammy-winning\, Harvard-educated\, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted artist\, songwriter\, and activist Tom Morello is living proof of the transformative power of rock’n’roll. Known for his innovative guitar solos and thunderous chords\, Morello is a groundbreaking artist both in his solo career and as an original member of the rock bands Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave – two acts responsible for multiple Grammy Awards and a combined 30 million albums sold worldwide. His trademark style was a crucial component of Rage Against the Machine\, helping launch Morello and the band to Grammy-winning\, multi-platinum success\, which in turn led to his recognition by Rolling Stone Magazine as the 18th “Greatest Guitar Player of All-Time” and subsequent induction into both the Rock & Roll and Metal Hall of Fame. After not just one but two multi million selling bands\, Morello’s signature guitar can be heard in the supergroup Prophets of Rage and with his 6-year stint in Bruce Springsteen’s E-Street Band. \nMorello is a vocal political activist whose first solo outing was as the Nightwatchman. You can often find him on the front line of pickets and strikes across the country – most recently in solidarity with United Mine Workers of America in Brookwood\, AL\, the United Farm Workers of America in Sacramento\, CA\, and the Star Garden Strippers Union in North Hollywood\, CA. He is also the 2023 Music Will Humanitarian of the Year recipient\, helping to sponsor multiple music education programs across the country for schools in need and is an ACLU Artist for Smart Justice for his advocacy work. Additionally\, you can catch him every week on Sirius XM as the host of his show “One Man Revolution.”

SUMMARY:Sloan
DESCRIPTION:Sloan is a Toronto-based rock band from Halifax\, Nova Scotia who first performed in spring of 1991. Comprised of bassist and vocalist Chris Murphy\, guitarists/vocalists Jay Ferguson and Patrick Pentland\, and drummer/vocalist Andrew Scott\, the quartet possessed a rare chemistry from the start. There are so many moments peppered throughout the 30-year history of Canadian indie rock heroes Sloan that set them well apart from the pack. From the band’s earliest home studio recordings that married their pop smarts with fizzy\, fuzzed out guitars\, right up to later efforts that contain multitudes in their track listings\, ranging from Dylanesque streams of consciousness to short\, sharp blasts of power pop –   Somehow\, it all remains quintessentially Sloan. \nThe band are credited as being a main instigator for the Canadian East Coast alternative scene of the early 90s\, garnering comparisons to the Seattle Grunge movement on the opposite coast. Over the course of their quarter-century career\, Sloan have amassed an outstanding collection of over 250 songs and more than 30 singles with airplay at Canadian Rock Radio. Sloan have received nine Juno Award nominations and won for Best Alternative Album in 1997. The band was named one of Canada’s top five bands of all-time in a CBC critics poll.
