We’re going to be taking over South Market Street and the Solarium and putting on a drag show of EPIC proportions!\nDoors open at 7\nShow starts at 8\nAdmission is $5.00 or pay what you can. DESCRIPTION:Hosted by The Kindness Closet and The Sewist\, with support from Saint John Pride. \nJoin us for the AIDS Memorial Quilt Workshop on Fri\, Aug 11\, 2023 at 62 Water Street\, Saint John\, NB. This in-person event is a unique opportunity to honour and remember those impacted by AIDS. \nDuring the workshop\, participants will have the chance to contribute to the creation of a beautiful quilt that commemorates the lives lost to this devastating disease. No prior quilting experience is necessary – our friendly hosts will guide you through the process. All supplies will be provided. \nBy taking part in this workshop\, you will not only learn a new skill but also contribute to a powerful symbol of remembrance and healing. The AIDS Memorial Quilt is a testament to the strength and resilience of communities affected by the AIDS epidemic. \nEach quilt square is dedicated to someone that has passed due to AIDS related complications. Their stories and lives were beautiful\, unique and they deserve to be shared. We ask that each participant shares a story of someone who has passed from HIV/AIDS – this could be someone you knew personally\, or someone who you can read about. \nDon’t miss this chance to connect with others\, share stories\, and pay tribute to those we have lost. Together\, we can create something meaningful and impactful. Join us at the AIDS Memorial Quilt Workshop and be a part of this important initiative. \nRefreshments will be provided.
