DESCRIPTION:Sarah Jones\, Curator of Jones Contemporary and Jones Auction House\, presents a talk about Nova Scotia artist\, Maud Lewis (1901-1970). We will explore Lewis’ technique and materials\, her approach to painting and composition\, and common themes and motifs. \nABOUT THE SPEAKER \nSarah Jones (BA\, MA Art History\, Queen’s University) is a visual artist\, art historian\, and curator. She conducted her graduate research on twentieth-century Canadian art and Nova Scotia artist\, Maud Lewis\, and recently participated in a panel discussion at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia about Lewis’ work in the marketplace.
