DESCRIPTION:Snotty Nose Rez Kids tore into the music scene with unmistakeable talent and an unforgettable name. Showing off their lyrical prowess and natural storytelling ability\, Yung Trybez and Young D jumpstarted the band with two back-to-back albums in 2017. Their follow up album\, 2019’s TRAPLINE\, really launched their career with hit “Boujee Natives\,” and multiple awards including their first Juno nomination. The band took their high voltage live show on the road and clocked 100 shows in 6 different countries. Their pandemic album\, LIFE AFTER\, saw greater industry recognition with multiple music magazine cover stories\, and strong streaming platform support including Billboard advertisements in Toronto’s Yonge-Dundas Square\, playlist cover images\, and an Amazon Twitch Channel Takeover. \nTaking the album on the road\, the band toured 80 shows in support of the album across North America. They received their second Juno nomination and performed during the live broadcast. DESCRIPTION:Join Chroma NB and Canadian Writer\, Chris Dupuis\, for a rare film screening of the original version of “Winter” with a Q&A session with Dupuis to follow. Released in 1965\, Winter Kept Us Warm was a watershed moment in Canadian cinema. Filmed by a group of students on a shoestring budget\, Winter Kept Us Warm is Canada’s first film to depict a gay romance. Directed by David Sector\, a 22-year-old English major with no filmmaking experience\, the film was an unexpected smash\, scoring attention from big-name critics and a spot at the Cannes Film Festival. Sixty years after its release\, Winter offers a uniquely heart-wrenching portrait of queer attraction when being gay was still a crime in Canada. \nThis year will mark Winter’s 60th anniversary\, and author\, Chris Dupuis\, has published a detailed account of the film’s production. \nCopies of “Winter Kept Us Warm” will be available for purchase at the screening.

SUMMARY:Travis Lindsay at Punch Lines Comedy Club
DESCRIPTION:Travis Lindsay is a Canadian stand-up comedian from Halifax\, Nova Scotia\, most noted as a member of the writing team for This Hour Has 22 Minutes since 2021. \n After performing as a comedian for a number of years\, he released his debut comedy album The Kid Is Alright in 2019. \n In 2020 he was given a temporary gig as a warm-up comic at a taping of 22 Minutes\, which soon turned into a permanent job. He joined the show’s writing team in the 2021–22 season\, and has appeared on the air as a featured player in some sketches. \n In 2021 he also released his second comedy album\, Killed at the Funeral. \n In 2023 he was featured in an episode of JFL’s The New Wave of Standup. \n In 2024 he competed in the fourth season of Canada’s Got Talent\, reaching the finale. He then got to open for Howie Mandel at his sold out theater show in Toronto. \n Along with the other writers for 22 Minutes\, he won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Writing in a Variety or Sketch Comedy Program or Series at the 12th Canadian Screen Awards.
