SUMMARY:field notes for collective regrowth: a solo exhibition by Amy Ash
DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THE EXHIBITION:\nfield notes for collective regrowth is a celebration of all that is vibrant\, vital and life-giving.\nFeaturing cyanotype dreamscapes with botanical and figurative imagery\, this new collection of artwork by Amy Ash is a gentle reminder that we belong to complex ecosystems. These works were made in collaboration with both community and place\, and reflect effervescent moments of togetherness\, awe\, wonder\, and instances of growth within the context of a shared experience.\nThe creation of this body of work was supported by the New Brunswick Arts Board and the Saint John Community Arts Board. \nABOUT THE ARTIST:\nAmy Ash (she/they) is a queer interdisciplinary artist engaged with collective care through processes of shared meaning-making.\nAmy has exhibited and curated programmes internationally\, with projects commissioned by the National Gallery London (UK)\, Platform Centre for Photographic and Digital Arts (Manitoba)\, and Third Space Gallery (New Brunswick). Their work has received the support of artsnb\, Art Council England\, Canada Council for the Arts and the Peter McKendrick Endowment Fund for Visual Artists\, and has been shared in publications such as Cmag\, Visual Arts News\, and CreatedHere.\nOf white settler ancestry\, they live in Menahqesk/Menagoesg/Saint John\, New Brunswick\, Canada\, which sits on unceded and unsurrendered lands that have been cared for by the Wolastoqiyik\, Peskotomuhkati\, and Mi’kmaq Peoples since the very beginning.
