Script Happens 2018

Maritime playwrights are celebrated in an evening of three original one-act plays. Local unproduced one-act scripts undergo a meticulous development process resulting in original, home-grown, stage worthy creations.

This year’s final selections are:

Jukie & Her Dad by Jamie Bradley
While exploring the often funny but always touching dynamic between Jukie and her dad, the play deftly takes the audience on a poignant journey into the mind of a young woman as she struggles to cope with events in her past.

The Spider in the Tub by Bet O’Toole
Hold on to your yoga pants as Harriet and Orson confront the challenges of getting older by getting “fit and fearless”. This delightful comedy provides a fun and insightful look at their relationship as it is tested by the realities of aging.

Everybody Dies in December by Nancy Kenn
Claire works in her family funeral business and loves it, taking the opportunity to talk to her clientele about her problems and observations. This play provides a thoughtful, sometimes humorous, often moving, portrayal of Claire’s search for meaning and her place in life.

The John Denver Experience

The John Denver Experience at Imperial Theatre

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 20 years since the world lost music icon John Denver, Yet his legacy continues on through his many hits songs, including; “Rocky Mountain High”, “Take Me Home Country Roads”, “Thank God I’m a Country Boy”, “Annie’s Song”, “Back Home Again”, “Sunshine On My Shoulders”, “ Leaving On A Jet Plane “and more!

Many generations have adored this amazing singer, songwriter, actor, and humanitarian.

Relive the music of John Denver with award winning Chris Collins and his band Bolder Canyon as they create an unforgettable John Denver experience. The similarity between Collin’s and Denver’s voice is uncanny and Collins brings to the stage the unmistakable enthusiasm that was a hallmark of a John Denver concert.
