Alison is a well known face to uptown Saint John. ?She is an amazingly talented artist, and one of the 'brilliant energy' personalities we are lucky to have in our community. This summer is Alison's second gig as apprentice with the International Sculpture Symposium, hosted in uptown Saint John! ?Alison works with both stone and ceramic and is widely recognized by her 'I?? Saint John' trademark. ?She truly does 'heart' Saint John, as we heart her! ?
Let's get to know Alison!
Where were you born?
I was born in St. Stephen but I've lived all over the world.?
How long have you been a part of the uptown scene?
I moved to Sj in January of 2003 to go to University and to live at Bayshore. I worked at the Campus radio station 107.3 fm, for The Baron, and at ESL – the art supply store, and many gigs at the Saint John Arts Centre.
What is your most guilty pleasure?
I also love playing trivia at Big Tide?on Wednesday nights.
Who is your favorite artist?
I have too many favorite local artists to list, and I'm very grateful for that.
My Audrey Muffintusk's the best cat on earth, sorry (not sorry).
What is your uptown insider tip?
My secret and my favorite uptown indulgence is the vegan, ethically sourced,? coconut cream chocolates sold by Tosco Tom at the Queen Square Market. ?I always hesitate to tell people about him because he's not prolific and once you've had those chocolates, there are no others. So, enjoy at your own risk.
