Uptown Saint John is excited to welcome India Gate Bar & Grill, a new member of the Uptown Saint John BIA! Owners Ganesh Kommisetti, Gowtham Karavadi, and Nutan Kalyan Reddy Kanukula had been planning their restaurant venture for some time when the opportunity came to take over an existing space on Union Street. After renovations, India Gate Bar & Grill opened its doors in June 2026, with a few more changes to the space still to come.
The menu has a strong South Indian influence, with chefs from South India bringing authentic flavours and cooking traditions to the kitchen, alongside a selection of North Indian dishes. Plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are available, and most menu items can be prepared at different spice levels.
Many dishes are made in-house, including dosa and biryani, and naan is baked fresh in the tandoor. Look for the India Gate logo throughout the menu to spot their house specials. For something sweet, Apricot Delight and Mango Delight are two popular picks, and their milkshakes have also been a hit with guests.
India Gate also offers lunch specials and Saturday brunch specials, giving you plenty of reasons to stop in and try something new.
