Uptown Cleans Up on Earth Day!

Today, uptown businesses and friends joined forces and cleaned, swept, and collected garbage during the 2nd Annual 'Uptown Clean Sweep,' hosted by the Business Improvement Association, Uptown Saint John. ?About 60 people turned out to lend a hand during this gorgeous, sunny morning and 32 garbage bags of rubbish were collected, along with some larger, more interesting pieces.

Big thanks to everyone who helped out and our fabulous sponsors; ?Acadia Broadcasting (Country 94 and 97.3 The Wave), Hilton Saint John, Market Square, The City of Saint John and the Green Machine, ICS Creative Agency and InColor Printing. ?Thanks also to all of the businesses who donated prizes for the event.

Chop Chop Winter – Presentation to Lunch Connection

Receiving, representing the Lunch Connection organization, Mark Slader, Bonnie Hunt and Brian Earle. ?Presenting, representing the Uptown Restaurants, Nancy Tissington, Executive Director of Uptown Saint John Inc.

Today, we were thrilled to present a cheque to Lunch Connection in the amount of $5,917.00 This amount reflects a $1 donation for every Chop Chop dish sold during our recent Chop Chop Winter Restaurant Week. Each dollar feeds one child a healthy lunch and our uptown restaurants are more than happy to give back in this way.  The more patrons enjoy eating out during Chop Chop, the more healthy meals can be provided.

We would like to thank the valued sponsors of Chop Chop Winter Restaurant Week:

Picaroon’s
97.3 The Wave
Country 94
Mirage Foods
Discover Saint John
Uptown Saint John Inc.

Big thanks also to all of the chefs and restaurant staff who really treat us well during Chop Chop, and to all of the foodies who indulged during the week, making this nice donation total possible.

The next Chop Chop Restaurant Week is planned for October 31-November 6, 2016
