This morning, Market Square hosted Saint John's third annual Poutinerie Challenge. As a part of the week-long Canada: Coast to Coast celebrations, the event heralded in locals and Uptown visitors to enjoy a taste of French-Canadian?cuisine on Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day.
The Saint John Ale House, Ryan Duffy's Steak & Seafood, The York Bistro, Grannan's Seafood,?Church Street Steakhouse and MIX Resto Bar each created a unique poutine-inspired dish to be judged by Shirley McAlary, Bridget Oland and Michel C?t? on taste, presentation and creativity.?After deliberation by the judges, Ryan Duffy's pulled poutine took home the Gravy Boat Trophy and the free poutine sampling began.
