February is Heart Month!
Lets Paint Uptown Red
Please help us celebrate Heart Month by wearing your heart on your sleeve, tie, dress or shirt and support the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick Dress Red campaign. Your support will help fund leading-edge scientific research, we are identifying new and exciting opportunities that hold extraordinary promise in extending lives. Existing treatments are being improved and new ones are being developed so that people living with the effects of heart disease and stroke can thrive and we are continuing to meet emerging challenges head on such as childhood obesity, womens risk, etc
Heart disease and stroke claim 1 in 3 before their time. But because of people like you, we are making a difference in the lives of New Brunswickers, giving them more time to live, laugh and love.
How you can support The Heart and Stroke Foundation as a business or as an office:
– Pick one or more days in February and invite your colleagues to DRESS RED with the purchase of an Im dressed red for the Heart and Stroke Foundation button at $5.00 or a sticker at $2.00 and. This year we are reaching out to businesses and offices within the uptown area of Saint John with a fresh new idea, we are offering a free lunch and learn session for the best dressed or best decorated office/cash counter/etc (The winner will be judged by photo!) Send photo to email@example.com
– Sell red paper hearts for $2.00 to your customers/staff, with the option of having a competition amongst the staff. The competition would have incentives based on the number of paper hearts sold!
– Last but not least, if your business/office is not able to participate in either Dress Red or Paper Hearts we are also accepting donations, big or small every donation helps save a life. Many companies have chosen to hold their Dress Red day on February 14th, VALENTINES DAY. Encourage your employees to buy a sticker or a pin to support. You could hold a bake sale, book sale, pot luck etc. to raise more money!
Together, we will be helping our neighbors, friends, colleagues and families keep heart disease and stroke from affecting their lives too soon. Thank You!
