'Magnifier' shines this weekend at Silver Wave Film Festival

The short film “Magnifier” written by local artist Michael McDonald will be presented at its third Film Festival this weekend in Fredericton. Having recently won 'Best Production Design' at the inaugural awards in St. Andrews, Magnifier is a testiment to the quality it offers, as well as the talent and dedication behind it.

Set in a small american town during the late 1960's a young boy finds himself embraced by his curiosities in a world quickly changing. Simple wonder developes into a labyrinthine adventure in this beautifully and intricately captured story.

This film uses our charming city as a wonderful backdrop for many of the scenes, as well as our notably talented local actors. We congratulate Mike on this huge achievement and tip our hat to him and his crew as he shares this story with presentation of this calibre. Magnifier is truly something Saint John can be very proud of.

Mike McDonald is up for 'Excellence in Screen Writing' award this weekend at Silver Wave. We wish him and all of the Magnifier cast and crew the best of luck!
